1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture through Google OAuth or other authentication providers. We do not store your password — authentication is handled by third-party identity providers.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you use TalkCut, including pages visited, features used, and interactions with the canvas and timeline editors. This data helps us improve the product.

Content & Media

When you upload images, videos, or other media to TalkCut, we store this content in your workspace to provide the service. AI-generated outputs are also stored in association with your account.

Workspace Memory

TalkCut's Workspace Memory feature stores creative preferences (brand colors, typography, pacing, tone) that you configure. This data is used solely to personalize AI generation within your workspace.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve TalkCut
  • Personalize AI generation based on your workspace preferences
  • Process and route your requests to AI model providers
  • Send you service-related communications
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party AI Services

TalkCut orchestrates multiple AI model providers to deliver generation capabilities. When you use generation features, relevant inputs (images, prompts, parameters) are transmitted to these providers for processing. Each provider processes data according to their own privacy policies:

  • Fal AI — image and video generation
  • Google Veo — video generation
  • ElevenLabs — voice and audio generation
  • xAI — conversational AI

We only transmit the minimum data necessary for each generation request. We do not share your account information, workspace memory, or creative profiles with AI providers.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. Media uploads are stored via Vercel Blob storage. Database records are stored in PostgreSQL hosted by Neon. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and workspace data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your workspace content
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics services to understand product usage patterns. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Children's Privacy

TalkCut is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
